BEA GARDING SCHUBERT

The Artist

Bea Garding Schubert is a German born artist working between her home country and Spain. She creates abstract artwork that is driven by the idea of inspiring hope and happiness. She lets windows, birds, landscapes and infinite imaginary worlds emerge from the canvas in combination with hidden written messages inspired by songs and stories. Bea’s work has been acquired by numerous collectors across the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Qatar and Europe. She has exhibited her paintings at Art Fair Luxembourg, Art Bahoin Barcelona, Art Beijingin China, Artexpo New York, Red Dot Miami Artfair, Shenzen Artfair in China. The German embassy in Athens holds various of her paintings, as does the Chagall Museum in Vitebsk/Belarus.

The Traveller

After finishing her studies at Braunschweig University of Art, Bea travelled around the world for 8 years - on foot (!). Europe, the Middle East, Morocco, Australia, India, Asia, as well as North and South America - with her life's possessions in her backpack. No cell phone or any other mean of communication, nothing but the things she truly needed. Gathering food, water, making fire, living in and with nature. This period of her life defined her. It provided her with a sense of freedom, liberation and faith.

The Artist with a clear message

Artists have the ability to bring positive ideas into society. Bea wants to encourage people to open their eyes, minds and hearts and to inspire them to change or see things in a positive way. None of us is getting out of here alive, so what are we supposed to do? We should be happy and let our dreams come true! Bea wants us to look for the good, the light, the hope and positive change in any situation.

Her latest series "Home" focuses on hope, trust, confidence and feeling at home. Birds and their wings represent the variety of possibilities we all have, illustrate the freedom of flight, as well as involves the importance of precision and timing, vision and individuality. Imagine the feeling of being a bird and flying high!

The Experimental Artist

Bea is experimentally driven. Free-flowing expression is the basis for all her paintings. Even determining which side is up limits her. That's why she is working on the ground for as long as the painting needs it. Brush, spray, drip, squeegee - there are no limits.

"I am a dreamer believing in a better world. This positive attitude deeply influences my working process: Free-flowing expression is the basis for my paintings, even determining which side up limits me. Brush, draw, spray, drip, squeegee. There are no limits."
